Can nickel sheets be soldered with solder wire?

Release time:

Nickel sheets can indeed be soldered using solder wire, but certain conditions must be met. Nickel has good solderability and can form alloys with tin; however, during soldering, it’s important to pay attention to temperature control and surface preparation.

Welding conditions
Temperature: The soldering temperature should be the melting point of the solder plus 50℃. The soldering iron tip temperature needs to be increased by an additional 100℃ based on this value.
Surface Treatment: Ensure the nickel sheet surface is clean and free of oxides and oil contamination to improve welding quality.
Precautions
Battery Welding: If welding batteries, use a spot welder to avoid damaging the batteries due to high temperatures.
Solder Flux Selection: Choose a flux suitable for nickel sheets to remove oxides and oil contaminants and increase the welding area.
